After a week away, it’s time now to delve into what’s been happening in the world of industry once again. This week: conferences ahoy! The ARIA Week announces its events prior to its big awards show, and Gossling gets signed to Dew Process, plus more.

There is nothing better, than a legitimate excuse – like you really need one – to laze around in the sun on a hot 28 degree day listening to awesome bands while insanely hung over. Which is how myself and a friend spent the end of a long weekend at the first ever Echo Festival in Mount Barker. Sunglasses on and guzzling down bottled water we were glad to have made it after a knuckle-biting (for my passenger) ride up the freeway.

Highlighting the talent Adelaide has got growing and living in the city at the moment, the Echo Festival will be hitting up the Adelaide Hills in October. The Echo Festival, the Hill's answer to a regional music festival will be held at the Mt Barker Showgrounds and aims to encompass the feel of a big, national festival with all the intimacies of a local gig.
