Splendour Spotlight: Our 11 favourite sets of Splendour in the Grass 2015

Splendour in the Grass has once again come and gone, and while we're free of the mud-caked wasteland that North Byron Parklands became, we will miss what really mattered first and foremost: the music. Splendour is always teeming with bands and artists giving it their very all, matching the reputation of arguably Australia's best festival with career-defining sets from local acts and big showcases from internationals both new and old. There's always much, much more than just a few highlights coming out of the weekend, whether it be a new band/artist you stumbled upon or a long-awaited live performance from an iconic band. Here, we reflect on our 11 favourite performances from the three days of live music.

Splendour in the Grass Festival Review: Friday (24.07.15)

Rain thankfully held back for the most part, blessing the official first day of Splendour in the Grass with relatively clear skies and drying up some of the thick mud that covered the parklands; at least until the headliners.

Live Review: Spiritualized - Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall (02.12.12)

Whether you’re a casual fan, or a hardcore fantatic, when a band as lauded as Spiritualized put on a very special show at our iconic Sydney Opera House (SOH) you would be remiss to overlook the potential for “gig of the year.” The English rockers made such an impression with their SOH performance last year that another shot in the world-famous concert hall was a no-brainer.

In this issue: Last Dinosaurs add new shows to tour, Grimes sells out east coast tour, The Brand New Heavies add second Melbourne show, Spiritualized ticket sales revised and many more!

2012 Line Up for Meredith Music Festival Revealed!

After a leak made its way to the internet and was quickly taken down last night, the people behind the Meredith Music Festival have officially released the line up for the 2012 edition!

Promising a line up not to be forgotten, this year's Meredith Festival will be headlined by Primal Scream. Last seen in the country touring Screamadelica, Primal Scream are acid-rock pioneers and will no doubt go down extremely well at Meredith's 'supernatural' ampitheatre.

Album Review: Spiritualized - Sweet Heart, Sweet Light (2012 LP)

Elements in the entertainment media have labeled Spiritualized as “space rock”, however, this term is unnecessarily ambiguous and conjures the image of a band constantly reworking the X-files, or perhaps the Dr. Who theme. At one stage I was expecting Figran D’an and the Modal Nodes, but no “Mad About Me”.
