I left tonight's show wondering if crowds were becoming tired of going to shows or of metalcore as a genre. With the exception to the response to headliners, Canada’s Silverstein, the punters at the Manning Bar lacked a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Two things synonymous with metalcore music.

Silverstein returned to Melbourne to unveil their seventh studio album, "This Is How The Wind Shifts". Supported by Sienna Skies, Belle Haven, and Who Invited The Wolf. Our photographer Serena Ho was there to bring you the highlights.

RAP CITY ANNOUNCES KILLAH PRIEST & LOCAL SUPPORT ACTS TO THE LINE UP
Killah Priest, longtime associate of the Wu-Tang Clan, has been added to the 2012 Rap City line up. Set to appear alongside Ghostface Killah, DOOM and Chino XL, Priest is an excellent addition to an already stellar cast of hip-hop icons. Also announced are local support acts for each leg of the festival, as listed below.

The one thing that has always drawn me to punk music is the fact the songs are short and sweet, to the point and normally under three minutes. Silverstein are clearly fans of this as well and set out to record an album of songs all under 90 seconds.
