It was eerie to see Oxford street almost deserted with the blanket of smoke from the bushfires hanging over the city. I figure if we’re going to go down in flames, may as well be doing something you love and as I love live music, The Standard was a good place to hide out.

Rain was pouring down in bucketloads outside, but the Oxford Art Factory still managed to attract a fair crowd for the All My Friends FBi radio fundraiser on Saturday night. Despite the dismal weather, the vibe was warm and welcoming upon my arrival, helped along by the gesture of a free bottle of Coopers green… As a Melbournian, like a lost bird away from my Southern nest, I was looking forward to the night ahead, where I hoped to be introduced to some of Sydney’s fine local talents.
