Canadian Music Week is pleased to announce that Sarah McLachlan, the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, will be honoured with the Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award in recognition of her longstanding commitment to charitable initiatives.

From 1997 to 1999, Lilith Fair was one of the most successful touring festivals in America. Founded and headlined by Sarah McLachlan, it was a showcase of some of the worlds finest female singer/songwriters. Sarah brought the festival back earlier this year, however it didn't prove quite the success as its predecessor, with quite a few dates cancelled.

Fans of female singer/songwriters will have all heard about Lilith Fair - Sarah McLachlan's touring Music Festival in the USA. She's bringing a "taste" of the event down to Australia in October! And she's bringing some familiar faces along for the ride.... here's the press release:
