Desert Trip Festival confirmed: The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan & more to appear

Recently, when there were reports of a 'mega festival' featuring some of rock and roll's most beloved names (think: The Stones, Paul McCartneyThe Who...) swirling, it seemed to good to be true. Well, doubters, think again: the Desert Trip Festival has been officially announced and it's coming out of the gates blazing with some MASSIVE names.

Some people may say it's too early to make guesses for concert of the year. To hell with them. Roger Waters is THE show to see in 2012.

2nd shows announced in Sydney and Melbourne for Roger Waters' The Wall

Roger Waters brings his masterpiece The Wall Live to Australia in 2012, continuing the sell-out success of his extensive 2010/2011 tour of North America and Europe.

Due to an overwhelming demand during the current pre-sale period, second shows have been added in Melbourne and Sydney.

Tickets for all shows go on general sale from Monday July 11, with the Ticketek online pre-sale commencing 3pm this Thursday, July 7.

Roger Waters will perform his masterpiece The Wall to Australia in 2012, continuing the sell-out success of his extensive 2010/2011 tour of North America and Europe.

The Wall, written and produced by Roger Waters, was first performed live by Pink Floyd in 1980.

Originally released in November 1979, The Wall was America's top-selling album of 1980 and is still in the US Top 5 best-selling albums of all time.
