Festival Review: Groovin' The Moo - Maitland Showgrounds (09.05.15)

With the recent flooding that has affected the Hunter Region for the past month, enthusiastic punters should have arrived at Maitland Showground with their wellies pulled up and ready for mud. The flooded paddocks alongside the highway just out of town bode for a messy occasion but it was a pleasant surprise to find upon entrance a solid dry ground with nary a fleck of mud in sight...

Festival Review: Groovin The Moo - Hay Park, Bunbury (26.04.15)

The cars were packed, the cow onesies dusted off and the fast food outlet lines were long – Groovin The Moo had arrived. We’d all spent the day in wait, enviously scrolling past the Oakbank highlights flooding our newsfeed, planning out our timetables like tactical masterminds. In true WA form the sun was out for an easy 25 degree day as we crossed the grassy grounds of Hay Park to the gate. Some people seemed aimless and there were a few tears spotted by the info gate as it seemed the sold out status of the festival was still hitting punters hard, but ticket in hand we pressed on pass the gathering pile of deodorant cans and the sceptical bag checker asking “Really?” as a young girl handed over her sacred bottle of perfume.

A$AP Ferg, Broods, Hilltop Hoods and more feature on the 2015 Groovin The Moo bill!

Australia's huge regional touring festival, Groovin the Moo, has dropped its line up this morning, sure to rev festival punters up into a tizz. Last year saw GTM introduce a South Australian leg to the tour and in 2015, the Oakbank Racecourse in the Adelaide Hills is where GTM will start. Kicking off on ANZAC Day, the likes of A$AP Ferg, Hilltop Hoods, Broods and more will perform around the country at venues in Bunbury, Bendigo, Canberra, Maitland and finally Townsville. Like most years, tickets for Groovin the Moo tend to fly out the window, so keep an eye on sale dates and jump up on em!

Festival Review: Stereosonic Day Two - Sydney Showground (30.11.14)

Stereosonic has grown into a phenomenally large festival to rival the biggest calender events in Australia's music scene. With big music festivals dropping like flies left, right and centre as of a few years ago, this super-scaled dance epic has managed to outweigh virtually everything that can be mentioned in the same breathe, and it has done so off the back of stellar production and flawless organisation. You can forget the fact that the biggest names in the EDM (and it's billion off-shoots) world were here to purvey the party, from Calvin Harris and Skrillex to Tiësto and Carl Cox, that was all simply an added bonus (albeit a very great one). What really worked here was how Stereosonic have filtered acts between stages so that each were consistent in both atmosphere and sound.
