the AU interview: John Schumann of Redgum/John Schumann & The Vagabond Crew (Adelaide)

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the seminal Australian song "I Was Only Nineteen", ABC Music released a special unplugged version of the song for purchase through iTunes and will see Redgum's John Schumann and Hugh McDonald heading to the 2013 Gumball Festival this year to perform it especially on ANZAC Day. The two musicians will be performing a set comprising of Redgum and John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew material, but it's clear that the audiences are going to be in for something special when the song in question is given the live treatment in the Hunter Valley.

Album Review: Various Artists - Triple J's Like A Version Anthology 1-5 (2012 Compliation)

Like A Version is the name of the covers segment brought to you every week by Triple J. The premise of the show is that an artist or band will drop by to perform live in the studio their interpretation of someone else’s song. It's a bold and brash take on cover versions that this hard to please reviewer was lucky enough to experience and to be absolutely honest I believe that the shows' hosts, Tom and Alex, said it best when describing the release of this anthology, spanning the years 2005-2009.
