Music Video of the Day: RÜFÜS "Like An Animal" (2015)

RÜFÜS (or RÜFÜS DU SOL as they are known in North America) continually deliver fantastic music. And their latest single - the second to be taken from their upcoming record Bloom - "Like An Animal" is no exception. Directed by Katzki, featuring animation by Jack Vanzet & Katzki, is also a pretty damn fine clip and it makes it in as our final Music Video of the Day for this week! Watch it here:

Single of the Day: RÜFÜS "You Were Right" (2015)

"Musically, we really resonate… We just all agreed instantly that it was a good move, to find a bit of inspiration." When we spoke with James from RÜFÜS last year, the concept of relocating to Berlin to work on album #2 was very much cemented in the minds of the Sydney band. Returning home early this year to wrap up work on their highly anticipated Atlas follow up, RÜFÜS have finally given fans a taste of what they've been toiling away on over in Germany in "You Were Right".

the AU review's 15 most anticipated Australian records of 2015

After an incredible year of new Australian music in 2014, we have an incredible array of records in the pipeline for the new year. Some are from bands who we've been waiting to hear from again for years... some for the first time... others are continuously pumping out incredible music and we have no desire for them to stop! In no particular order, here are the fifteen Australian albums (some confirmed, some still to be...) that we can't wait for (or at the very least are hoping for...) in 2015:

Festival Review: Field Day - The Domain, Sydney (01.01.15)

The concept of a music festival the day after the biggest global celebration, New Years Eve, seems flawed from the get go. But the crowd and energy tell a very different story. Festival boys are wearing deep, deep v-neck singlets matched with beards and bucket hats, every other girl is either in a black trilby hat or a bra-less midriff, and everyone is there for a good time.

Festival Review: River Sessions - Mackay Showgrounds (29.06.14)

When I first heard of River Sessions a couple of months ago, I was positive it must have been a new festival. Even in the regional festival circuits I feel I have a pretty good idea of what's happening around the country. But lo and behold, River Sessions has not only been running since 2008, but has become one of the most successful regional festivals in the country, attracting thousands of punters every year, drawn by an impressive array of local and international talent. Well, humbled as I was by this news, I knew I had to make my way north to the QLD town to find out what all the fuss was about for myself.
