You know how you have that family member who generally stands out as being the coolest? The Aunty who sneaks you alcohol at parties when you're underage or the one who lets you stay up late? Well, when it comes to the Meredith Music Festival, Aunty has delivered again, with a line up that has people around the country getting keen to head to the 'Sup once more this December. Party on.

Live Review: Alpine + Pearls + Olympia – Metro Theatre, Sydney (10.07.15)

It’s not often that a band will introduce a song by ordering the audience to dance more expressively, “not just this bopping up and down” as Phoebe from Alpine did. She momentarily turned the attention away from their colourful stage presence to the night as a whole. Despite joining fellow vocalist Lou in an uninhibited performance - playing with the mics, kicking, dancing and at times even rolling on the floor, she also wanted the audience to join in on the fun.

Melbourne's Pearls Announce Tour Dates, Album Release Date & Premiere New Video

It’s shaping up to be a big week for Melbourne’s glam-rock band, Pearls who have just confirmed a trio of exciting announcements.

Live Review: A Place To Bury Strangers + Harry Howard and NDE + Pearls - The Corner Hotel (20.01.13)

Local group Pearls had the honour of opening proceedings on the night and quite frankly did a fantastic job of it. With a blend of shoegaze, drone and a hint of indie-pop the 3-piece wowed the audience for what seemed like only a few minutes but in reality was the best part of 40. Playing tracks from their recent self titled EP it was noticeable to see more and more heads turn their way as their set progressed and people started to take notice. I myself was one of those patrons and while I’m ashamed to say I wasn’t familiar with Pearls prior to this show I sure shit am now. A standout set by a great band.

Live Review: The Night Terrors + Rohypnotise + Pearls - Phoenix Public House (25.02.12)

Luke Benge’s new project Rohypnotise made their live debut at the Phoenix on Saturday and their particular brand of chilled out dream pop made for pleasant listening. The band had a very relaxed vibe and while they aren’t the liveliest bunch I’ve ever seen, the strength of their music was obvious during the last few songs that I arrived in time to see. They were a fun, technically accomplished band who are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Photo Gallery and Live Review: Brous EP Launch + Pearls + Domeyko / Gonzalez - FBi Social (18.11.11)

Pearls were unleashing a spectacular wall of noise when I entered the venue. Unfortunately this happened to be the last few minutes of the set so I don't have much I can say. But I certainly enjoyed the short experience I did have with them. Catcall then jammed out the tunes in a DJ set as we awaited the main attraction.
