Live Review: Safia + Boo Seeka + Owen Rabbit - Woolly Mammoth, Brisbane (27.08.15)

Safia have been absolutely killing it this year. With single after single, they have been getting so much radio play as well as selling out show gigs all across the country. The last time I saw Safia was at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND conference last year, and holy wow, what a difference a year makes. They have really stepped up their game and brought the production of their live show up to a whole new level.

Single of the Day: Owen Rabbit "Holy Holy" (2015)

Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and all round talented lad Owen Rabbit has recently released his new single "Holy Holy" this week - another fusion of jazz, soul and electronica that is going to be something we think you're going to dig. Rabbit has just been announced to be supporting SAFIA on their national tour in September so no doubt his name is going to get some excellent exposure and it's well deserved - the musician is definitely on to something special.

Owen Rabbit set for October/November tour off the back of new single, "Violence and Degradation"!

When he released his debut single "Police Car" earlier in the year, Owen Rabbit made an impact and man, was it a good one. Touring the single successfully only recently, the Melbourne based artist now continues the momentum with his new single, "Violence and Degradation". A darker song than "Police Car", Rabbit goes further this time in demonstrating his progression as an artist and as a music fan playing with influences. He'll be touring the new material through a run of dates in October and November - do not miss out on the opportunity to see what he does live this time round!

Live Review: Owen Rabbit - Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar, Sydney (09.08.14)

Currently travelling around the country to promote his single "Police Car", Melbourne's Owen Rabbit is an emerging talent searching for a place amongst the talented engineers of electronic soundscapes across the country. Not in the sense that he's actively seeking out a position amongst or along side them, through some grand master plan of world (musical) domination; rather this is a young artist who is in that exciting stage of discovery. Discovering what he's capable of, what works, what doesn't, what people like, what they don't.

the AU interview: Owen Rabbit (Melbourne) talks influences, touring and making the move from Perth to Melbourne!

Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Owen Rabbit is soon to be taking his debut single "Police Car" on tour around the country next month and we're excited to see how his live sets play out! There's a decent amount of hype building around this lad and to find out more about him in the lead up to it, the AU threw some questions his way.
