the AU interview: Oisima (Adelaide) talks the long awaited release of 'Nicaragua Nights'!

Nicaragua Nights, the debut full-length record from Adelaide's Oisima, was one that was picked up almost ravenously by various music publications and fans of the producer's fantastic knack to conjuring up soundscapes to get lost in. Oisima's musical journey to this point has been marked by a few mixtape and EP releases so understandably, the hype surrounding his first studio album was justified, especially given the delays it had experienced. As a performer, Oisima's live shows have taken him around the country and his reputation for churning out an engaging live format has continued to grow. For a lot of Adelaide fans though, he's still Anth from the Howling Owl cafe and bar who also happens to make some dope tunes.

Live Review: Art vs Science + Oisima - Adelaide Unibar (04.04.14)

Oh Art vs Science. Keeping me drunk and dancing up a sweat a gigs since 2009. The boys kicked off their Create/Destroy EP tour at the Adelaide Unibar - the first show of the tour - to a crowd eager to eat their live show up because let's be honest, it's been a while since they've brought the noise through these parts. Returning to the stage that hosted them for the first time moons ago (supporting The Galvatrons), the show was a great one for the Sydney trio and showed how much potential still lay ahead for the rest of the tour.

The jazzy, once instrumental, sounds of Adelaide producer Oisima has evolved into an explosion of smooth chilled out beats and other worldly sounds. Philippe Perez caught up with Oisima in the midst of his travels for the single tour, ahead of an appearance at Splendour in the Grass and at the OutsideIn Festival in Sydney.
