The World Before Her is about two very different groups of young women living in India. At that age the world should be their oysters. But instead they live in a patriarchal society that limits their options. The two choices available are represented her in the form of devout Hinduism and taking part in the Miss India beauty pageant, two very different sides to the same coin.
