Festival Review: Soundwave Festival Sydney (Day 1) - Sydney Olympic Park (28.02.15)

Being an avid goer of Soundwave for six years, every year I’ve always been happy with the turnout of the event. This year, the festival panned across two days which was something I wasn’t used to, but then again, this meant that it would bring me more time to explore the talented bands out there. Going to any music festival with an open mind enables you to uncover some gems along the way which is essential to fully experiencing the true joy of a huge music festival like Soundwave.

5 Christmas Singles to be Getting Behind This Holiday Season...

We're heading quickly towards Christmas Week, which usually means that you're running around like a mad person, trying to pick up presents you know run a chance of earning a 'Oh, just what I wanted...!' response and scribbling on Christmas cards that probably won't be sent until you're back at the shops for the Boxing Day sales. While you're doing this, I'm imagining that a fair few of you, the Christmas-devoted, are enjoying the stack of Christmas albums which have been released or breaking out the good old favourites. Mariah Carey. That fab Earth, Wind and Fire Christmas LP. We've been seeing artists from across all genres penning Christmas tunes and we've listed five that you should get around as you begin shelling the prawns and stocking your fridges for Christmas lunch.

Album Review: New Found Glory - Resurrection (2014 LP)

With their expertise in the pop punk genre, the men of New Found Glory have taken themselves to another level with their eighth full-length record Resurrection, delivering an album of high energy, creativity, fluidity and edge. The album is a must-have for lovers of pop-punk or adventurous listeners who desire a much-needed soundtrack to their summer days.

the AU interview: Jordan from New Found Glory (USA) chats about "Resurrection", his love for Friday Night Lights and Tattoos.

Reigning the pop punk scene since 1997, New Found Glory are the ultimate champions, mastering each album release they have ever released. With their eighth studio album, Resurrection, due for release this October, these men have always been known for their notable and infectious music with some noise pollution that's worth the contamination. Needless to say, the youngins of today’s society really need to know this band because they have inspired the bands that exist in the pop punk genre at the moment. If I were you, I’d Google them right now if you have no idea who I’m talking about.

Festival Review: Vans Warped Tour - Ellis Park, Adelaide (09.12.13)

If you were one of the millions of kids who cut their teeth on pop-punk and skate-punk in the late nineties and early-to-mid 2000s, the Vans Warped Tour was pretty much hallowed ground. I distinctly remember following the coverage of the American Warped Tours every year in high school, drooling over the line ups, following Buzznet blogs, watching videos and reading interviews. It was my dream to go over and follow the tour for myself at some point, although I'm not sure how I thought I was going to afford it.
