Hostess Club Weekender Singapore marks the last of the stops in a series of festivals organised by leading Pan-Asian promoter Hostess Club. With a slew of festival dates within a period of two weeks, the company has produced stunning lineups in each of the countries presented. Kickstarting their flagship gig in Toyko, the festival has made its way through Hong Kong, Taiwan, Manila, and finally, Singapore.

Hostess Club Weekender making its debut in Singapore

Much lauded indie-rock festival Hostess Club Weekender is making its debut on Singapore shores on the 22nd of February 2014. Hostess, a mainstay in the Japanese live calendar, is the brainchild behind bringing in respected acts such as Vampire Weekend, Dirty Projectors, Travis, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Spiritualized, Dinosaur Jr, Toro Y Moi, Youth Lagoon, Deap Valley and Perfume Genius.

Album Review: Mogwai - Rave Tapes (2014 LP)

Pensive opener 'Heard About You Last Night' lulls you in, with wandering guitar tune in the lead and ringing electronic chords that leisurely build to a half-high before fading back down. From there, we're introduced to the organic wheeze of analog synth that rules the album with the slowly churning 'Simon Ferocious'. 'Hexon Bogon sees this tone put to best use, the grind of guitar fuzz mixing delightfully with the more organic pure tone.
