For many punters, Saturday night was not the first time walking into Sydney Town Hall's Paradiso. The pop-up venue had been open for a week now, and many had already taken advantage of the beautiful historical space, either at a paying gig, or at the "free in paradiso" events. The venue never ceases to amaze however, and it is hoped that the city will continue to use the potential of this room in the future.

Live Review: Foals + Mitzi - Oxford Art Factory (22.01.13)

Having played a sold out Enmore Theatre show in early 2011, it was a somewhat peculiar (though, for fans, quite welcome) step backward for British post-punk quintet, Foals, to grace the stage of Oxford Art Factory. Needless to say, despite announcing two Big Day Out sideshows, both sold out in minutes.

SXSW Music announces its next wave of bands for 2013!

SXSW has announced its next waves of invited acts to perform at the 2013 conference, the festival's 27th edition. Taking place in Austin, Texas from March 12-17, the second batch of bands brings the total to a massive 800 announced artists. The list is still yet to be completed, but below are the Australian boys and girls who are set to do their thing at SXSW next year!


the AU interview: Jad Lee of Mitzi (Brisbane)

Brisbane's Mitzi have been consistently impressing audiences since the release of their debut EP, All I Heard, last year. The band, who encompass a range of influences from garage disco to indie, are currently on the road promoting their latest single, "Who Will Love You Now". Playing in Adelaide tonight, I sent off some questions for the band to ponder over whilst on the road. Jad Lee, Mitzi's keyboardist, took the task on and provided the following responses!

Worlds End Press announce December tour dates!

On the success of single 'Second Day UpTown' and after spending some creative time in Rockfield Studios Wales and Massive Attack Studios in Bristol, Worlds End Press are ready to share the fruits of their labour. Joining up with Sydney/Adelaide future-pop duo Collarbones both synth enthusiasts are playing shows this December in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
