The final installment of the Soundwave Festival rolled into Claremont showgrounds delivering the biggest lineup of the summer. Featured on the bill were System Of A Down, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Alter Bridge, Machine Head, Bad Religion and more. We also said goodbye to local punk rockers Break Even and the legendary rock band Thursday who were performing their final ever shows. Stuart Sevastos was on the ground to capture the action of the day.

The dark and stormy night is rather suitable for the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness Marilyn Manson; however for the dismal drivers of Brisbane and harried security-guards-turned-traffic-controllers of Eatons Hill Hotel, it spells disaster.

The juggernaut that is Soundwave is here yet again, returning to Sydney's Showgrounds for the second year running. With a year to get themselves ready (you may recall the festival's move from Blacktown to Olympic Park was a rather last minute affair in 2011), the festival provided punters with an inspired new layout, jam packed lineup and a day that seemed to go off without hitch.

With just two months before Soundwave 2012 kicks off, the killer sidewaves have been announced and they don't disappoint. Marilyn Manson, Mastadon, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Lostprophets and Enter Shikari.

Marilyn Manson: The “I need a Hug” Tour
When I first heard of Marilyn Manson, I was suspicious that they were the goth equivalent of a boy band; riding Trent Reznor's coattails and adding a dose of Alice Cooper showmanship all with the goal of selling t-shirts to teens.
