Live Review: Little Green Cars + Kris Orlowski + The Wild Reeds - The Echo, Los Angeles (07.10.13)

Having missed them at Austin City Limits over the weekend, and witnessing way too little of their set at Splendour earlier this year, I was pretty excited to get the chance to see Irish up-and-comers Little Green Cars at the intimate Echo in Silverlake, California. In what is the band's second US jaunt since they were in Australia in July (busy much!!?), they were accompanied by local supports The Wild Reeds and Seattle's Kris Orlowski.

Festival Review: Splendour in the Grass Day Three - North Byron Parklands, Byron Bay (28.07.13)

Winter festivals are far from an easy exercise to put yourself through, especially ones that run multi-days. When you think about it, it's quite remarkable Splendour in the Grass has become the popular event it has, line-ups irrespective. I guess people are just gluttons for punishment. I feel this way after every Splendour.

Splendour Sideshow Review: Daughter + Little Green Cars - Metro Theatre, Sydney (24.07.13)

The promise of two fantastic international bands for around $40 saw the Splendour Sydney sideshow for Daughter sell out the Oxford Art Factory promptly and push up demand so fast that the promoters had to move to a bigger venue. The Metro Theatre was the new home for this Sydney stop on Daughter’s debut Australian tour and they brought along fellow Splendour act Little Green Cars for a double-bill.

the AU Interview: Little Green Cars (Ireland)

Larry Heath talked to the Splendour in the Grass-bound Little Green Cars just before they headed off to the Metro Theatre in Sydney to support Daughter!

Album Review: Little Green Cars - Absolute Zero (2013 LP)

If you’ve been anywhere near a radio or TV in the last couple of months you would have no doubt heard a catchy tune with an infectious shout along chorus about a certain John Wayne. If, like me, you’ve had that delicious track stuck in your head since the moment you heard it and have been scouring your local record store (or the internet) for some more semi country-rock (but country in the good way, not the Casey Chambers way), never fear, you wait is over. The Irish five piece, LIttle Green Cars, have released their long awaited debut Absolute Zero, an eleven track release, which serves up an engaging, catchy and surprisingly deep dose of country-rock, complete with those ever charming Irish accents and of course, their latest hit, ‘The John Wayne’.
