Album News Weekly: 1st July 2015

In This Issue: This week features a strong range of releases to bring some rock and pop into this officially wintry season. From Britain to the US to our own backyard enjoy this weeks array of EPs and albums!

Little Boots, Tokyo Police Club and Blondfire added to Rdio Sessions at SXSW

SWSX kicks off today and the announcements keep rolling in! Joining the Rdio Sessions will be English electro-popster Little Boots, Canada’s Tokyo Police Club and LA brother/sister duoBlondfire.

Rdio recently released it’s annual "Artists to Watch" list, which showcases 20 handpicked artists Rdio anticipate to break through this year. Rdio Sessions at SXSW will features many of these artists, including Haerts, Strange Talk and Tensnake.

Day 2 of YouTube FanFest started with a press conference with some of the stars of YouTube. Then we moved on to the main event where musician Joseph Vincent, Indonesian group GAC, Indian comedians The Viral Fever, Korean based Canadian duo Eat Your Kimchi, Thai artist Dome Pakorn Lam, Aussie cooking show Nicko's Kitchen, American band Boyce Avenue and superstar Ryan Higa (pictured above) hit the stage in front of their fans. Electro-pop songstress Victoria Christina Hesketh, aka Little Boots, took time out to speak with Larry Heath about the collaborative efforts of her latest release Nocturnes, punishing flight routes and developing the Poco Poco.

Album Review: Little Boots - Nocturnes (2013)

Victoria Hesketh AKA Little Boots is set to release her second full length LP Nocturnes later this month and it is one of those rare pop albums that is just that... good old classic, get up and dance pop. It’s fun, catchy and in parts sounds like it would have been a number one seller back in the 80s.
