Songs the NT should be turning up for ahead of BASSINTHEGRASS 2015!

This Saturday, an impressive contingent of some of the country's best touring acts will fly north to spend the weekend in Darwin at the Bassinthegrass music festival. While the rest of us look ahead to the freezing winter section of the music calendar, Northern Territorians get to soak up some amazing live music in the tropical climate many are envious of. Instead of hooking you up with an artist's hit single to hype you Darwinians up for the festival, we take a look at the artists below and some their finer cuts from recent releases you should get around in the lead up to Saturday's event.

Kid Mac heading out to WA for a small run of shows in October!

Kid Mac's heading out west for a small run of shows not to be missed this October! Having cultivated and maintained a strong fan base in WA, Mac is stoked to be able to get back out that way again, having recently arrived back in the country from a stint of touring in the UK, Europe, Dubai, Singapore and Brazil. These gigs in WA will fall on the eve of the release of Season 2 of The Crew, Mac's documentary which airs on Channel 9's GO!, which will feature some footage from the WA madness.

Kicking off tonight is the annual Music Matters conference and LIVE festival in Singapore. Over 60 bands from 18 countries will be in attendance, including an impressive dose of Australian bands. In addition to other appearances, if you happen to be in Singapore for the event, your best bet to experience all that Australia has to offer is either at the "Sound Gallery" on Wednesday night or "The Aussie BBQ" on Thursday night. Whether you're attending or not, we at the AU have put together these playlists for the events to find out either A) what you have to look forward to or B) what you're missing out on!

Second round of bands invited to SXSW announced!

The next round of musicians invited to attend SXSW in 2014 have been announced! The extensive list, featuring Australian acts including the likes of Boy and Bear, What So Not and Gossling, represents some of the best talent in the world at the moment, both up and coming and well established. Notable international names include Gary Numan and The Kooks, who are sure to put on some pretty special shows indeed. Check out the full second round, with our Australian contingent listed below.

Kid Mac has announced the released of his new single "Bustin Down The Door" and is hitting the road to celebrate!

Kid Mac announces National No Man's Land Tour

Kid Mac's highly anticipated new album, No Man's Land, comes out May 4 and features hit single 'She Goes Off' with US artist Mickey Avalon. Having just won Artist of the Year and Best Video at the 2012 MusicOz Awards held at the Sydney Opera House, Mac will take his No Man’s Land Tour around Australia at the end of June.

Channel [V} has bout a number of bands such as Good Charlotte, Faker and Ed Sheeran,to a number of random venues and places for impromptu gigs in the past and most recently Children Collide at the car park of the Sphinx Hotel in Geelong. The Sydney 60s dance party, Twist and Shout will be making its last $5 dance party round this Friday 25 May at Spectrum (Oxford Street). The night will feature DJs Dylabolical, Mr Chad and Doctor J.

Brimming with a genuine passion for independent Australian artists, MusicOZ Awards are moving from strength to strength. Held this year at the Sydney Opera House, the awards night played host to a wonderfully vast caliber of speakers and performers, rendering the night anything but predictable – and a far cry from being dull or overly formal.
