Today the Twilight at Taronga Series was launched in Sydney, with a stellar line up of Australian and international musicians confirmed to perform as part of the 2015 series. In a perfect setting of the harbour-side ampitheatre, these shows will return for it's 20th year in 2015 from January 30th through until March 21st.

9th annual Gum Ball festival reveals more artists set to perform in the Hunter Valley this year.

The Gum Ball Festival is known for its penchant of assembling quite the eclectic line-up of musicians from Australia and abroad, and 2013 is no different. Following on from the festival's initial announcement of bands, The Gum Ball has revealed that the alt-country 'supergroup' The Hillbilly Killers are set to headline this year's installment.

Australian DJ/Producer, Katalyst, or Ashley Anderson to his mum, is one busy man. He’s released two solo albums, Manipulating Agent and What’s Happening, which garnered ARIA nominations and numerous Australian Dance Music Awards. In between all this he’s produced and remixed many acts and also put together his own two compilations of remixes. He set up a label and produced a record as part of the project Space Invadas with fellow artist, Steve Spacek.

At first, Sydney band Push/Pull seemed somewhat of an odd choice to support Katalyst, but their set was brilliant and the crowd seemed to appreciate their flavour of Indie/Pop. Then I realised these atypical pairings are beneficial for the live music scene; combining musical styles and bringing different kinds of people together to experience genres they may not have come into contact with otherwise. Nonetheless, the sense of anticipation for the main act was palpable.
