Kamasi Washington confirms much-anticipated Australian dates for March!

If you haven’t gotten tickets to Bluesfest this year, don’t fret, as one of the surefire highlight artists on the festival bill for 2016 has announced some headline dates of his own. Kamasi Washington, US avant-garde jazz musician and composer recently in the spotlight for his work with Kendrick Lamar on To Pimp a Butterfly, will be headlining two unmissable shows in Melbourne and Sydney in March.

The talent Washington harnesses is incredible and his career to date is enviable for any fan of R&B/hip-hop to look at (he’s been on the road with the likes of Raphael Saadiq, Kendrick, Lauryn Hill and more). Washington’s debut album The Epic landed last year and became one of our favourite releases of 2015; a triple disc musical journey composed and written by the man himself, fusing so many different sounds with great creative flair.

Tickets for Washington’s headline shows are on sale to the general public from 1pm, January 15th but a Telstra Thanks pre-sale is commencing from noon, January 13th until noon, January 15th. Head to www.livenation.com.au.
