Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na announces Australian shows with The Funk Hunters

The deep, booming voice of Chali 2na will be heard once again in Australia as the iconic member of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli plans a return down under for a few shows with Canadian duo The Funk Hunters. Promised to be a one-of-a-kind AV experience combining DJ culture and hip hop, funk, soul, and electronica, this team will be be forming a sound system first at Brisbane’s Earth Frequency Festival and then in Sydney’s Metro Theatre.

Chali 2na and The Funk Hunters have been bringing a new perspective on each acts respective style, resulting in acclaimed shows across North America, speaking to 2na’s love of diverse, multi-genre shows and once again placing the baritone emcee front and centre of another highly anticipated crew.

“I want to free people’s asses and let their minds follow. To not be preachy, but to make them aware of what I’m about. I want to enlighten, but I ain’t trying to be a bumper sticker either.” – Chali 2na.

On the support for the Sydney show will be local hip hop duo Coda Conduct who recently attracted attention with their single “Paint It Gold” and appearances at festivals like FBi SMACS.
