Tkay Maidza, Grenadiers, Timberwolf and more unveiled as SA Music Award nominees!

The nominees for the 2015 SA Music Awards have today been announced, with successful Adelaide export Tkay Maidza leading the charge, nominated for seven awards across 14 categories! Music SA this morning revealed the results of what has been a months-long judging process for a panel of local industry minds, reflective of the amount of talent South Australia has produced over the past 12 months. The awards ceremony will be held on November 11th, set to be opened by SA Premier Jay Weatherill and Lord Mayor Martin Haese at The Mercury Cinema.

Bad//Dreems, Timberwolf and more score at the 2014 Fowler's Live Music Awards!

South Australian music and its industry was celebrated last night, with the Fowler's Live Music Awards being held at Fowler's Live down Adelaide's West End. A great turn out, winners were announced from 17 Peer Voted Categories as well as those from the five Public Voted Categories, which were decided upon by over 2000 people who cast their vote. Bad//Dreems and emerging band Slick Arnold performed live at the ceremony, which was MC'd by APRA|AMCOS' Gary Burrows.

Sinead O'Connor leads second WOMADelaide artist announcement!

The second WOMADelaide announcement landed today, further certifying the event's status as one of the premiere world dance and music gatherings in the world. Leading the second artist update is the Grammy nominated Sinead O'Connor, who will be bringing her new album I'm Not Bossy; I'm the Boss Down Under, as well as her acclaimed catalogue of music.

Julia Henning makes grand songs that make you swoon but also sway. She also makes grand decisions that are bold - like choosing to perform at the Sydney Opera House with a solitary EP under her belt. It spurred her on to continue with recording more material and is on tour currently around Australia to support her latest album 'Fledgling'. She spoke to us at The AU Review about that album last week.
