On Day Two of Edmonton Folk Music Festival, we were treated to a rich and wonderfully extensive line up of artists, spread out across seven stages. Our night of music kicked off with the exciting and very promising session entitled "Magical Moments" with Jenn Grant, Bear's Den, John Smith and Danny Michel collaborating for a special performance.

In the year 1980, Edmonton Folk Music Festival had only one leading staff and three-hundred volunteers, now it has become one of the leading folk festivals in the world. Present day, with over 2000 volunteers making a massive contribution, the festival has become a non-for-profit event, showcasing the best in folk music worldwide. Known for their hit single, "Big Jet Plane", Australian folk-duo Angus and Julia Stone will also be part of this year's festival lineup!

Festival Review: Woodford Folk Festival Day Five & Six - Woodfordia, Queensland (31.12.14 - 01.01.15)

Despite the weirdness of day three weather-wise, there was more confidence with what the skies gave us for the remaining two days of Woodford. We at least got some semblance of normalcy with an overcast day and a pleasant coolness in the air. It made for a good time watching bands.

John Smith announces his first Australian tour!

Touring Australian for the fist time, UK folk singer John Smith will be performing at Woodford and Cygnet Folk Festivals alongside headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest guitar players, Smith’s latest album Great Lakes has also recognised as one of the most exciting voices in the new British folk scene. This tour will see Smith performing intimate solo shows, including a very special co-bill in Brisbane with another heralded UK folk act, Olivia Chaney.

Woodford Folk Festival Announces 2014/2015 Programme

Woodford Folk Festival returns for its 29th year this December with a vibrant and ambitious programme. They have just released their program and this year, the festival will feature more than 400 acts in 35 performance venues over six days and nights.
