Glass Animals and Joey Bada$$ team up for infectious new tune "Lose Control"!

In a collaboration we weren't expecting but definitely are digging, Glass Animals have shared a new tune spun together with Joey Bada$$, "Lose Control". With their now trademark bend on R&B production and simmering, almost gravelly beats, Glass Animals have matched up really well with Joey's buoyant flow on this one. We know Glass Animals have a penchant for mixing things up (their cover of Kanye's "Love Lockdown" has now become a favourite on the live front), so this is another cool addition to the pile.

Festival Review: Listen Out - Centennial Park, Sydney (03.10.15)

Trimming the fat of a large scale dance festival, Fuzzy's Listen Out has gotten the boutique angle exactly right for the past few years. The music starts around 2pm - when most would rock up to a festival anyway - and rolls out some of the best international and local party-starters across three stages. It's simple and quite perfect, leaving the success of the day purely in the hands of the acts performing, most of whom did an excellent job at keeping the energy up right until a show-stopping set from headliner Childish Gambino, and a show-stealing set from ODESZA.

Live Review: Joey Bada$$ + Run The Jewels + David Dallas - The Hi-Fi, Sydney (07.01.14)

With Falls Festival done and dusted for another year it was time for major hip hop drawcards Run The Jewels and Joey Bada$$ to take off on a brief double-headline tour around Australia, beginning with Sydney at The Hi-Fi. Along for the ride was accomplished Auckland emcee David Dallas, bringing with him the same strong body of work that has him as one of the best emcees to ever make it big out of New Zealand.

While recent events may have landed New York rapper Joey Bada$$ in the loving arms of the Australian police, there is no denying that for the Australian crowds who have been able to see him perform, the 19 year old slayed. Returning to the country for the Falls Festival as well as some select headline shows with Run the Jewels, the co-founder of the Pro Era Collective took some time out in the last hours of 2014 to let us know how he's feeling about this tour and where he's been able to take his music thus far.

Single Stream: Joey Badass Featuring Kiesza "Teach Me" (2014)

With Falls Festival now behind him and his Sydney sideshow with Run The Jewels up tomorrow, rising emcee Joey Bada$$ has dropped another nugget from his upcoming debut album B4.DA.$$, due out in a matter of weeks. "Teach Me", a bonus track on the album, veers a bit away from his 90's hip hop revival aesthetic, teaming him up with Canadian house-pop artist Kiesza for a mish mash of style, rapid-fire flowing over a double time banger.

Fuzzy's long running Field Day is always one of the best ways to kick of the new year, but it can often be a bit overwhelming running around The Domain and trying to decide which acts will help you make the most of the day. Field Day has always seen some of the year's stand out performances, from Justice to Trentemoller in previous additions. Here's 8 acts who are playing this year that you shouldn't miss out on.

Best of 2014: Top 50 Hip Hop and R&B songs of 2014 (Part Four 20-11)

2014 closes in a matter of weeks, and with its end comes a myriad of reflective best of lists that serve as a good way to round up the array of sounds that really made an impact this year. Undoubtedly you'll be seeing a bunch of these lists published on the AU in the coming weeks, but I wanted to kick mine off with a round up of 50 tracks I feel were the best moments of hip hop and R&B - what some people call 'urban music' - this year.

New Music Video: Joey Bada$$ "No. 99" (2014)

Following the announcement that his debut album B4.DA.$$ will be hitting in a little over a month from now, Falls Festival-bound emcee Joey Bada$$ has unveiled the very 90's throwback music video for single "No. 99". Produced by golden era wizard Statik Selektah, the track flows similarly to A Tribe Called Quest's legendary "Scenario" with Joey sounding especially rambunctious as he furthers his reputation as one of the most technically gifted new generation rappers. Check it out below and get excited for his upcoming Australian tour.
