Live Review: Soak + Jesse Davidson - Paddington Uniting Church, Sydney (16.04.15)

Touted as an artist to watch by The Guardian from the young age of 16, Soak has already drawn a considerable amount of hype. The next 2 years have seen her impress Chvrches enough to be the first act to release a track on their singles label, perform Glastonbury, record an album for Rough Trade and be named on the prestigious taste-making BBC Sound of 2015 longlist. With all the accolades it’s almost amusing how taken aback she was by the sizeable crowd, attracted to the Paddington Uniting Church.

Single Stream: Jesse Davidson "Laika" (2015)

Adelaide's Jesse Davidson brings us a lil somethin' somethin' with new single, "Laika". The singer songwriter has been earning his stripes on the local and national circuit for a while now, with his hold on musical textures and way of working with different sounds putting him more and more on the map. "Laika" is the first taste from Davidson's sophomore EP, a fitting follow on from what we got on breakout tune "Ocean" ; the tones are fresh while the production indicates there is a bigger soundscape Davidson is branching into, not surprising given the live set up he's been working with on recent tours.

Live Review: Jeremy Neale + Jesse Davidson + The Rocketeers - Pirie & Co., Adelaide (01.11.14)

Jeremy Neale has been a busy man touring with his band Velociraptor and masquerading as ‘Jerry Sensation’ the frontman for his new Beach Boys inspired off-shoot Teen Sensations. Despite this, he found time in his schedule to treat Adelaide to a Halloween-themed, energy-filled performance.

Future Islands, FKA twigs, St Vincent and more on the 2015 St Jerome's Laneway Festival!

After much speculation and wondering, the line up for the 2015 St Jerome's Laneway Festival has been announced with a list of artists that has indeed impressed. With the likes of Lorde, CHVRCHES and HAIM making the journey to Australia for the festival tour last year, the Laneway crew have gone and levelled up with their 2015 class, featuring some massive names including Future Islands, St Vincent, Flying Lotus and more.
