Jeremy Loops bringing Critical As Water to Australia in May

Here’s a guy we’ve been enjoying the sounds of recently. South African artist Jeremy Loops has been working his way to more and more acclaim with the release of his debut album Trading Change, in 2014. Taking numerous ‘Album of the Year’ awards and fast becoming a live favourite around the world, the performer is bringing his shows out to Australia – along with a new album in tow.

The new record comes to us in Critical As Water. Of course, if you’ve been keeping in touch with news stories recently, Cape Town in South Africa is currently in a state of crisis, set to be the globe’s first major city to run out of water. Taps are set to be switched off this April as the state tries to deal with the crisis due to climate change, mismanagement on a federal level and levels of consumption going through the roof.

The themes of water (and its importance) are ones that are prevalent on Loops’ new album – you can get a taste of it by watching the clip for “Waves”, below.
