Jen Cloher performed in the ACMI Lightwell on Friday night as part of the "Bowie Late Nights" concert series in conjunction with the David Bowie Is... exhibition. Support came from David Bowie ukelele cover band, The Thin White Ukes. Tony Proudfoot was on hand to witness and capture these images.

Live Review: Something For Kate + Jen Cloher - Taronga Zoo, Sydney (20.03.15)

The first that strikes you as you complete the walk down the hill into Taronga Zoo to find the stage set at the waterfront for the Twilight at Taronga is the stunning backdrop. You would be hard pressed to find a more picturesque venue in the country. The Sydney Harbour skyline looms large and it’s hard not to be awed by the beauty of it even in the dimming and overcast dusk.

Single Stream: Jen Cloher "Needle in the Hay" (2015)

After collaborating with Tim Rogers of You Am I and opening for Rodriguez, Melbourne-based Jen Cloher returns with a new single "Needle in the Hay", off an upcoming split 7" vinyl release on Milk! records, with Courtney Barnett on the flip side. "Needle in the Hay" is a slow bluesy jam with an unexpectedly catchy chorus. Along with the release comes a new music video featuring Cloher’s live band; Jen Sholakis, Courtney Barnett and Bones Sloane, and a whole lot of paint. Check out the new video below:

Something for Kate, one of Australia’s most successful and respected bands rocked it out as part of the Twilight at Taronga series, in the second last show of the season. Supported by Melbourne singer songwriter Jen Cloher, Jonathan Armstrong was there to capture the action.

Today the Twilight at Taronga Series was launched in Sydney, with a stellar line up of Australian and international musicians confirmed to perform as part of the 2015 series. In a perfect setting of the harbour-side ampitheatre, these shows will return for it's 20th year in 2015 from January 30th through until March 21st.

Conor Oberst, Bernard Fanning, Sarah Blasko and more head up the Melbourne Zoo Twilight Series next year.

The Melbourne Zoo has announced their biggest Twilight Series yet today, with a stomper line up of artists set to perform in amongst the unique environment which is the Melbourne Zoo itself. Under the stars, with the animals around, the following Australian and international musicians will perform some of the most memorable shows you're likely to see come summer 2015.

The Australian independent music industry was celebrated last night at the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards, held in the new venue at North Melbourne's Meat Market building. Performances by Meg Mac, Sheppard, DMA's, SAFIA and Carlton Dry Global Music Grant winner REMi entertained the large crowd, with the award winners taking home some great trophies and praise. 9th Coopers AMP announces shortlisted artists for 2014, including Big Scary and Cloud Control!

The 9th Coopers AMP has announced the nine Australian artists who have been shortlisted for the prestigious award for 2014. Chosen from a long list of 43 artists, the judging panel had a hard task upon them in whittling down the list to come to the final group which was announced over the weekend. Officially unveiled at the Shortlisted! event in Melbourne, co-hosts Ella Hooper and Urthboy revealed that the following bands and solo artists are up for the award.

"Hold My Hand" is the third single to be taken from Jen Cloher's In Blood Memory. The clip was shot in New Zealand on Bethell's Beach starring acclaimed Kiwi actor Ian Mune.

'I Manage My Music', the intensive workshops run by three of the country's finest musicians in Jen Cloher, Mia Dyson and Liz Stringer, is going to be taken through Brisbane, Mullumbimby, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Hobart! Aimed at musicians entering the industry, establishing their brand and ultimate forging a sustainable position within the industry, these workshops will give participants the opportunity to hear and learn from these self-managed artists.
