the AU interview at the Falls Festival 2014: Gabe & Jono from Jagwar Ma (Sydney/London) backstage at Lorne!

Photo: John Goodridge

Just before New Year's in Lorne as part of the Falls Festival, Bridget had the pleasure of sitting down with Gabe and Jono of Jagwar Ma to catch up on what's been another successful year for the London-based Sydney trio. Having 'taken her boot' off for Jagwar Ma at Meredith only weeks before, naming them as one of the acts of the festival, Bridget had a lot of ground to cover with the boys, chatting about their dominance of the international festival circuit as well as their ever-growing presence on home turf as well.

Photo Gallery: Falls Festival Day Three - Lorne, Victoria (30.12.14)

The third day of the Falls Festival hits and everyone is on great spirits helped by an amazing line up of local and international acts. The Black Lips tore it up in the Grand Theatre while George Ezra had everyone singing along with hit song "Budapest". The closing acts of the main stage were more like production numbers; La Roux, Empire of the Sun and SBTRKT all putting on amazing shows. The Village was also a hive of late night cabaret and performances. Our photographer John Goodridge was there to capture the action.

Live Review: Falls Music & Arts Festival Day Three - North Byron Parklands (01.01.15)

It’s the afternoon, the heat has broken slightly, and Asgeir stands on the Forest Stage, playing a lilting cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box”. Hushed and gentle, it shifts Cobain’s drawl for Asgeir’s fey vocals, altering it into a delicate indie anthem. It’s halfway through his set, and he’s just warmed up after a sluggish start. Single “Going Home” came just before, extended with pitch warped keyboard solos, and “King And Cross” will come later, before the folkish “Torrent” closes out the set.

Festival Review: Rhythm and Vines Day One - Waiohika Estate, Gisborne (29.12.14)

The mountainous Waiohika Estate is the site of New Zealand's biggest music festival Rhythm and Vines (affectionately known as RnV), now in it's 12th year and firmly established as one of the most eagerly anticipated events on New Zealand's calender. With headline slots from big international names like Drum & Bass maestro Netsky, UK pop-rockers Bastille, and EDM giants Chase & Status, plus the debut of the spectacular Arcadia Afterburner stage - imported from super-festival Glastonbury - RnV has managed to put together a music program that is perfectly in line with what people have come to expect each year - big, bold, and diverse.

The Top 5 Performances from the 2014 Meredith Music Festival!

Tell you what, it was a bloody good feeling returning to the ‘Sup for my second Meredith Music Festival. In her 24th year, the demand to visit Aunty Meredith continues to outweigh ticket supply and with a no dickheads policy, a nude sprint race, BYO tinnies and couches, it’s not that hard to see why. This year was no exception, particularly with such a stellar line up boasting the likes of The War On Drugs, De La Soul and Factory Floor but for me, there were 5 standout acts that made my Meredith experience THAT much better.

Four NSW artists set to join Eminem, Pearl Jam, OutKast and more at the 2014 Austin City Limits Festival.

One of our favourite US Festivals without question is Austin City Limits - a festival put on by C3 Events (the guys behind Lollapalooza in Chicago, and also co-presenters of Big Day Out here in Australia) over two weekends in Austin every October. It's hard to believe we're talking about it already, but today marked the announcement for this year's event, set to be headlined by Eminem, the already leaked Splendour headliners Outkast and recent Big Day Out headliners Pearl Jam.
