Jackson Firebird return to Australia for east coast tour this month and April!

Returning to Australia following a successful jaunt through Europe and Brazil, Jackson Firebird aren't ready to settle back into off-road life yet, announcing a run of Australian shows for March and April! The duo have recently been spending time in studio over in Austin, Texas, working with Chris 'Frenchie' Smith (The Darkness, Dandy Warhols) on some banging new rock and roll tunes, so fans can expect to hear some snippets of this new material ahead of the new Jackson Firebird album, due for release later this year!

Complete Line Up revealed for the Melbourne Rolling Stone Live Lodge.

The complete line up of the Rolling Stone live Lodge has just been announced! The Live Lodge will see Fitzroy’s iconic Workers Club be transformed especially for the event which runs over three entertainment packed weeks between September 25 and October 12. Seven more acts have just been added to the already extensive line up:

Bringing the noise to the iconic Workers Club in Fitzroy is Rolling Stone and their popular 'Live Lodge'! Having enjoyed such a successful run in Sydney last year, the party is moving through to Melbourne for three jam-packed weeks of entertainment. Highlights are including a FREE event with Slash which will see the guitarist involved in an exclusive Q&A as well as performing, Shihad, the Golden Era Records crew coming through and more!

Deni Blues & Roots Festival full line up announced for 2014!

The 2nd and final artist announcement for the Deni Blues & Roots Festival line-up has arrived! The festival will take place over the Easter Weekend, April 19th and April 20th, and will be jam-packed with stellar musicians such as Elvis Costello, John Mayer, Michael Franti and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. In less than a month, the city of Austin, Texas will be throwing open its doors to tens of thousands of music fans, industry officials and musicians for the annual SXSW music festival and conference. Amongst that number are over thirty Australian artists. Over the course of the next couple of weeks we'll be profiling these artists, offering a brief introduction to what they’re about and what they have to offer.

Hello and welcome back to our weekly wrap of music industry shenanigans that have happened around Australia (and the world). It’s been a few sleepy weeks with Santa bringing all kinds of things for everyone. Everyone seems to now be busily making tunes or wheeling’ deals again, so let’s get into the thick of things.

This week: ARIA action for 2012 and in the last week, more Australian acts announced for SXSW, and a new crowd-funding site specifically for musicians to fund albums, projects and videos.

Some great Australian and New Zealand talent have been announced as featuring on this year's SXSW line up, as the festival reveals its third wave artist announcement. This bunch of artists brings the total of participating musicians for SXSW 2013 to a whopping 1300...and still counting.

The Fumes Hit The Road in November

The Fumes toured after the release of their first single, "Dance in Costume", earlier this year, but they’re still writing and recording the rest of their debut album. During the interim they’ll be touring - just for the hell of it. Various shows will be supported by Jackson Firebird and Mother & Son.
