Adelaide's Horror My Friend sign with Poison City Records as they tour their new single "Stay In"

One of our favourite Adelaide groups, Horror My Friend, have announced they've signed with Poison City Records, who will release their long awaited debut album Stay In, Do Nothing, in January 2016. This is the Melbourne based label who bring us the likes of The Smith Street Band, Clowns & The Bennies - so the Adelaide group are in some pretty fine company.

Oisima, Horror My Friend, Timberwolf and more named recipients of the 2015 Stigwood Fellowship.

Single of the Day: Horror My Friend "Stay In" (2015)

Last seen supporting Dune Rats and the Cosmic Psychos in Adelaide, Horror My Friend are going to be back at it this weekend, as part of the massive "PARTY PARTY PART-B" event taking over the Crown and Anchor hotel alongside some killer local and interstate bands. Yesterday, the trio announced a new run of east coast shows to support new single "Stay In" - an exciting hint as to what's to come on their debut album, set for release later in the year.

Live Review: Dune Rats + Cosmic Psychos + Horror My Friend - The Gov, Adelaide (25.06.15)

Having Dune Rats and Cosmic Psychos in Adelaide on a Thursday night can really screw you up - the concept of returning to a full day of work on Friday and then a full weekend while feeling hungover as a dog after one of their shows is horrendous. Deciding to roll sober on this particular night (four previous Dunies experiences having taught me some lessons in the art of navigating hangovers in the past), I turned up at The Gov and became part of a crowd that had no qualms about rising to the occasion - things got messy, sweaty and anarchic quickly.

Ross Knight of the Cosmic Psychos got up during Dune Rats' set and described them as the bastard sons of the bastard fathers. Which about sums it up. The night started fairly reasonably with Adelaide's Horror My Friend but once the Cosmic Psychos played and the Dune Rats hit the stage it descended into anarchy. There was stage invasions, shoeys and the inevitable post shoey spew, madness and mayhem.

Super Best Friends, Pat Chow and more set to join The Peep Tempel's Australian tour next month!

The Peep Tempel are gearing up for one hell of a tour next month and just with their name alone on the bill, crowds know they're in for a kickass time. Things got a whole lot more exciting recently however, with the Melbourne band confirming just some of the special guests set to fill out the gig bill in each state. Showcasing some of the country's best up and coming rock acts, The Peep Tempel have made this 'Gettin' On By' tour one that is as much about celebrating some great music being made by local outfits, as it is about getting their latest out to more and more fans. Which on its own, is never a bad thing, of course. This news just makes for a great bonus.

Live Review: British India + Magic Bones + Horror My Friend - The Gov, Adelaide (22.11.14)

The boys from British India have been ticking all the right boxes recently. After releasing their single “Wrong Direction” in October they went on to support the Rolling Stones at their Sydney and Melbourne shows alongside The Preatures.

Album Review: Horror My Friend - A Million Hands (2014 EP)

Adelaide trio Horror My Friend have been consistently fashioning themselves into one of the city's most promising young rock bands in the past few years, securing popular shows in the city and interstate and earning kudos from both the local scene and that of triple j in recent times. Their debut EP A Million Hands is released at a perfect time for the band, therefore, with the momentum surrounding the heavier grunge rock sound which has propelled the likes of Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays and others into the international spotlight only continuing to grow.
