The talent-rich sunshine state celebrated another fantastic year of music and creativity at the Queensland Music Awards at Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm on Monday Night, with big wins for Violent Soho, Sahara Beck, Bobby Alu, The Amity Affliction and Airling.

Sheppard, Dan Sultan, 5SOS and Sia lead 2015 APRA Music Award nominations with multiple nods!

Today, the 2015 APRA Music Award nominees were announced, with some Australian songwriters emerging as particular hot contenders, nabbing multiple nominations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the likes of Sia and 5 Seconds of Summer jumped off the page, both with three nominations to their name, while the Brisbane pop juggernaut that has become Sheppard lead the pack at four nom's.

The Queensland Music Awards are coming around again for another year, with QMusic announcing the list of finalists selected for the 2015 awards. Over 40 judges from Australia and abroad have been listening to a whole range of music from Queensland artists and as the final list dictates, the diversity within the music community in this part of the country is well represented.

The Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards has wrapped up their ninth year with awards going to some very talented and astonishing artists. The nominees for the 2014 Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards have been announced, once again representing a great and diverse range of Australian musicians who have produced some standout material over the past 12 months. Alongside some of the country's best emerging artists (REMi, Kilter, DMA's), are nominations for some of Australia's established favourites, including the likes of the John Butler Trio, Sara Storer, Violent Soho and more.

Out On The Weekend expands to Brisbane and announce headline shows for Justin Townes Earle and Ryan Bingham!

Following the successful announcement of the inaugural Melbourne Out On The Weekend event at Seaworks Williamstown, the event is now also heading to Brisbane in October. Out On The Weekend is a celebration of Americana music, great food and fine booze and will feature Nikki Lane, Robert Ellis, The Declines, Jonny Fritz, Emma Swift, Halfway, Paddy McHugh and Warren Earl Band.

Halfway announce tour launching new single "Dulcify".

Brisbane's Halfway have announced their new single in "Dulcify" and to celebrate, the rockers will be touring in June! The track, taken from their critically acclaimed fourth record Any Old Love, saw the band link back up with Australian music legend Robert Forster on production duties and is another example of how talented a music group they are.

Brisbane band Halfway have just finished their fourth LP Any Old Love. To celebrate, Halfway will be launching the album on February 7, followed by a national tour.
