GLASS ANIMALS

Photo Gallery: Austin City Limits Day Two, Weekend Two - Zilker Park, Austin (10.10.15)

Geoffrey D'Unienville is in Austin for the second weekend of the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival and delivers us an incredible array of talent in this exclusive photo gallery. From some of the biggest names in the world - Deadmau5, Drake and A$AP Rocky - to the likes of Charlotte OC, Shakey Graves, Glass Animals, FIDLAR and TV on the Radio - the second day of the festival certainly delivered something for everyone. Check out the gallery here:

Glass Animals and Joey Bada$$ team up for infectious new tune "Lose Control"!

In a collaboration we weren't expecting but definitely are digging, Glass Animals have shared a new tune spun together with Joey Bada$$, "Lose Control". With their now trademark bend on R&B production and simmering, almost gravelly beats, Glass Animals have matched up really well with Joey's buoyant flow on this one. We know Glass Animals have a penchant for mixing things up (their cover of Kanye's "Love Lockdown" has now become a favourite on the live front), so this is another cool addition to the pile.

Festival Review: Lollapalooza Berlin - Tempelhof Airport, Germany (12.09.15 & 13.09.15)

Photo: Stephan Flad.

Lollapalooza branched out into Europe for the first time over the weekend, taking Berlin's Tempelhof Airport by storm. The sold out event drew huge numbers of music fans down to the defunct airport (one of the coolest festival venues I've been too, I'll add) for some brilliant sets by artists who've been away for a little while, some of the biggest names touring at the moment and some recent festival favourites. Having attended Lollapalooza in Chicago last year, I felt like I was going into this one at least a little prepared, but Berlin's festival game was another beast in itself.

FFS & Deichkind impress, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis draw 50,000+ to close out Night One of Lolla Berlin!

The first day and night of the inaugural European extension of Lollapalooza came to a close at the Tempelhof Airport on Saturday, with hip-hop, rock and roll and dance music setting up a killer final few hours for punters to power on through to. With perfect weather conditions, an excellent venue and a solid line up of internationally renowned acts performing promptly throughout the Lollapalooza Berlin's first day, festival goers were spoiled for choice when it came not only to the variety of food options on offer, but musical fare too.

Lollapalooza takes flight in Berlin this weekend: 10 names we can't wait to see at Tempelhof Airport!

Lollapalooza comes to Berlin this weekend, taking over the Tempelhof Airport on Saturday and Sunday for the first time ever in its extensive history. The event marks the festival franchise's inaugural European event and as we look ahead to the weekend of live music from the likes of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Tame Impala, Muse, Fatboy Slim and more, it's no surprise that the latest addition to the European festival circuit has well and truly sold out. A mixture of heavy hitting international touring artists, as well as a strong line up of DJs and producers has set the tone for an impressive debut in the territory for Lollapalooza and we're going to be on site for all the action!

Lollapalooza Berlin debuting in September, featuring Tame Impala, The Libertines & more!

the AU interview at the Falls Festival 2014: Joe & Dave of Glass Animals (UK) ahead of their NYE set in Lorne!

Photo: John Goodridge

Glass Animals certainly came and made their presence known with Australian crowds as they played all legs of the Falls Festival and Southbound, along with headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this month. Ringing in the New Year in Australia, a country which has been showing consistent support for their amazing music for a while now, the band performed brilliantly across the tour, fans not wanting them to leave. On New Year's Eve, a few hours before they took to the stage, we briefly sat down with Joe and Dave to welcome them to Falls and to find out how things have been going since our last chat.

As the sun rose on a perfect final day of the Falls Festival, weary punters headed to the valley in anticipation of another great day of music. Alt-J, The Presets and Safia were just a few of the standouts on the day. Our photographer John Goodridge brings you these photos from the final day.

Part one of our Field Day festival coverage at The Domain in Sydney includes artists such as Salt n Pepa (pictured above), Collarbones, Danny Brown, Glass Animals, Joey Bada$$, Just Blaze, Milky Chance, MØ, Thundamentals and Tycho. Photos by Johnny Au.

Live Review: Falls Music & Arts Festival Day Four - North Byron Parklands (02.01.15)

The crowd was looking just a little tired and dusty as the fourth and final day at Falls kicked into gear. It was the coolest day thus far, breezy and cloud covered, but it was nonetheless still baking when Sydney’s Sticky Fingers wandered on to the Valley Stage.

The Falls Festival countdown is on...who should you be catching this New Year's?

Falls Festival 2013, by John Goodridge.

It's that time of year again, friends. Convoys are being planned, alcohol tolerances are being tested on Christmas Day in preparation and road trip playlists are being pulled together. The Falls Festival is kicking off this weekend, the ultimate New Year's get away for many Australian music fans keen for an escape with mates (plus a good few new ones by the end of it all) and some brilliant live music to round out their year. This year's line up hasn't been without its disappointments, with Robyn and Röyksopp and more recently, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, having to drop out, but as usual, the crew behind one of the most popular festivals on our calendar have stepped up to the challenge, adding some great new bands and ensuring that the attendees will have all their party needs taken care of, right through into the early hours of New Year's Day.

Field Day 2015 announcement includes Alt-J, SBTRKT, Bastille and more!

The huge New Year's Day festival set to take over Sydney, Field Day, has dropped a juicy line up for its next installment, featuring the likes of Alt-J, SBTRKT, Bastille and more! Announced on Triple J this afternoon, the Field Day line up boasts some huge Australian and international names from the dance/electro, indie and hip-hop realms, offering up one hell of a party for punters keen to kick on well after the New Year's Eve celebrations have wound down.

Album Review: Glass Animals - Zaba (2014 LP)

The love affair I've had with Glass Animals' music has been a bit of a slow burner. "Black Mambo" took some time to warm to, but it was like once I'd thrashed that, they had "Gooey" ready to for me to sink my teeth into and from there, that spark truly ignited. Their debut album Zaba is like the satisfying meal which follows an excruciatingly great appetiser. With a musical edginess of Battles and some lyrical delicacies Oxford-brothers Foals should be taking note of, Zaba is a great debut effort from a band who is only going to continue to grow in strength and popularity.
