Live Review: City Calm Down + Foreign/National + The Rememberz + Blush Response - Rocket Bar, Adelaide (09.10.15)

City Calm Down have maintained somewhat of an air of mystery around them in recent years. Having spent quite a bit of time away working solidly on their debut album, In a Restless House, the Melbourne band have still managed to cultivate and maintain a strong fan base within the local scene and following on from an impressive few live shows in Sydney and Melbourne recently, not to mention a well-received BIGSOUND run, it's finally time for City Calm Down to step out from behind the curtain and into the spotlight - the fans and the stages are ready.

Live Review: The Jungle Giants + Moses Gunn Collective + Foreign/National - Adelaide Unibar (30.05.15)

The Jungle Giants made their return to Adelaide after some time away to an enthusiastic, sold out Unibar crowd. The line up is a triple j loving, indie pop fan dream and is a good indicator of some of the great talent currently emerging out of the country's east coast at the moment. In both Foreign/National and Moses Gunn Collective we have two incredibly promising live bands, so I've got to thank The Jungle Giants and their tour organisers for giving both the platform to reach more people around the country on this run.

The Jungle Giants announce new tour dates for May to support new single "Every Kind of Way"!

It's been a little bit since we've seen The Jungle Giants out on the road, but that's all going to change come May, with the Brisbane act set to tour their new tune "Every Kind of Way", not to mention other classic cuts from their ever-growing body of work around the country. The tour news comes with the release of their new music video for "Every Kind of Way", directed by the talented Michaela Holmes and shot in the band's hometown.

Single Stream: Foreign/National "Always Blue" (2015)

Foreign/National have a new single out in "Always Blue" - a sweet hazed out jam that is oddly hypnotic, oozing melody and is a perfect tune to spend summer nights blissing out to. It's a well crafted track and like previous tunes we've heard from the Melbourne band, "Always Blue" is catchy as hell. That warped kind of sound over the vocals and groove makes the music enticing and it keeps you hooked.

the AU review's 15 Australian artists to watch in 2015

It's that time again where we look ahead to the year, rather than backwards, and move through the Australian artists we think will make it big in 2015. Now, our definition of "big" doesn't mean a Gotye size explosion - we just think that by the end of this year, all these artists will be well known around the country... some even internationally. Of course, many are well on their way there already. If you look back at our lists from 2013 and 2012, you'll see that usually we're fairly on the ball here. So pay attention! And now, in no particular order:

Foreign/National set for EP launch tour this October and November!

Melbourne's Foreign/National have been garnering quite a lot of praise from international corners, with their three released singles seeing the likes of Hype Machine, The Line of Best Fit and more giving them due props. Now, the band is ready to take their debut EP on the road and will be doing so this October and November! Available now through DOWNTIME, Foreign/National's self-titled EP is one which will be turning people's heads - a great hold on pop sensibilities, while working in some interesting and unique influences at the same time, Foreign/National have crafted something special.
