New Music Video: White Shadows "Give Up Give Out Give In" (2015)

Put the creative minds of Craig Nicholls, Nick Littlemore and Sam La More together and we've got White Shadows, the mysterious new project between the three artists that was unveiled just under two months ago. The first taste from the group in "Give Up Give Out Give In" sent fans a-talkin' - what kind of music was still to come from the frontman of The Vines, creative force of Empire of the Sun/PNAU his brilliantly savvy producer brother? Well, come April, we'll know, with the debut White Shadows album set to drop next month.

The Griswolds, The Preatures and more join Morrissey and The Killers on the 2015 Firefly Festival bill!

The line up for the popular Firely Festival has been released, with a swag of our favourite artists set to fly out to Delaware this June to play alongside some of the world's best live bands. A mysterious third headliner is blanked out on the festival poster, with many already speculating that Paul McCartney will take the spot - with his many appearances lately, it wouldn't be totally surprising. For now, we know that Kings of Leon and The Killers lead the top row, with the likes of Morrissey, Bastille, Foster the People, Modest Mouse and Snoop Dogg following hot on their heels.

Photo Gallery: Falls Festival Day Three - Lorne, Victoria (30.12.14)

The third day of the Falls Festival hits and everyone is on great spirits helped by an amazing line up of local and international acts. The Black Lips tore it up in the Grand Theatre while George Ezra had everyone singing along with hit song "Budapest". The closing acts of the main stage were more like production numbers; La Roux, Empire of the Sun and SBTRKT all putting on amazing shows. The Village was also a hive of late night cabaret and performances. Our photographer John Goodridge was there to capture the action.

Live Review: Falls Music & Arts Festival Day Three - North Byron Parklands (01.01.15)

It’s the afternoon, the heat has broken slightly, and Asgeir stands on the Forest Stage, playing a lilting cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box”. Hushed and gentle, it shifts Cobain’s drawl for Asgeir’s fey vocals, altering it into a delicate indie anthem. It’s halfway through his set, and he’s just warmed up after a sluggish start. Single “Going Home” came just before, extended with pitch warped keyboard solos, and “King And Cross” will come later, before the folkish “Torrent” closes out the set.

Festival Review: Falls Festival Day Three ft. John Butler Trio + SBTRKT - Lorne, Victoria (30.12.14)

By Day Three, everyone's hitting their stride; it's the first day of Falls where both the Grand Theatre and Valley Stage are in operation, more international visitors are in the joint and punters stand to bear witness to some more world class festival sets. And we've still got one full day and night to go.

the AU interview: Luke Steele on returning home for Falls with Empire of the Sun, 'Dumb and Dumber To' and more!

Empire of the Sun may have been absent from Australian stages for quite a while now, but this isn't to say the duo of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore have been enjoying downtime anywhere. Touring solidly around the globe off the back of their successful sophomore album Ice on the Dune, Empire of the Sun have been continuing to add to their dreamy electro-pop dominion, acquiring new fans, taking on larger stages at more festivals around the world and even foraying into film scores, with Steele and Littlemore taking the reins over the Farrelly Brothers' latest effort, Dumb and Dumber To.

The Festival Diaries: The Governor's Ball in New York City (Part Three: Day Three, 2014)

Day three dawns and the sun gods have visited us again – time to get alarmed, because now we know New York will be haunted with rain, fog and mugginess for the weeks to come. Only two minutes in, Canadian's Half Moon Run have set the bar for the day, with smooth harmonies and a gracefulness that makes every instrument from drum to kazoo look like an elaborately choreographed move – more dancing than music-making.

Festival Review: Splendour in the Grass Day Two - North Byron Parklands, Byron Bay (27.07.13)

Heading through the Splendour gates for a stellar second day of music, I fought my way through the deep sinking mud, only slightly dried out from the churning it received the day before, and the array of floral headbands to end up at Palma Violets taking second slot for the day in the Supertop on their first trip Down Under.

David Guetta, Empire of the Sun, Calvin Harris and many, many more to play Stereosonic 2013!

The Stereosonic line up was always going to be a highly anticipated one this year, especially with the announcement that the festival would be running over TWO days in each state. This morning, the official artist announcement dropped's massive, to put it bluntly. No two acts are set to play both days in the same city, enabling a completely different experience for every attendee in 2013.

Album Review: Empire of the Sun - Ice On The Dune (2013 LP)

Empire of the Sun have released their highly anticipated new album, Ice On The Dune. The duo has more face paint and headdresses no doubt. I feel like these guys have been around for ages and yet Ice On The Dune is only their second studio album. No matter, its still 13 tracks of sweet music goodness.
