With a belly full of chicken I played my second showcase at a place called The Free Times Café on College Street. A cute little pub/bar with a tiny stage out the back and a neat guitar mural which you can just about make out in the photo. My lovely friend Steve took this picture during soundcheck.

So it all started with a rather long bus ride from New York to Toronto. I thought if I was going to go all the way to Canada I may as well spend some time in the US first, eating pickles, drinking oversized beers and prancing past the cacti of Austin. Here is one of the many pickles I got to sample on my trip and here is me chuffed to be in Brooklyn.

With additional headlines and frontrunning bands still to be announced, CMW (Canadian Music Week) has reveal a great mix of Canadian locals and international visitors who are set to perform in Toronto this May. There are a great round of Australians headed over, including Elizabeth Rose, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Oscar Key Sung, who were recently announced alongside the likes of M.I.A, City and Colour and Tegan and Sara.

'Stand Tall' is the new single from Sydney musician Emma Davis, the first new release from her since 2010. The clip was shot in the beachside town of Stanwell Park in NSW by Sam Brumby.

Emma Davis announces Australian tour with Brian Campeau!

Sydney based artists Emma Davis and Brian Campeau have been busy planning an East Coast Australian tour alongside of their single releases. Emma Davis with her just released new single "Stand Tall" and Brian Campeau, with his new single "Cutting Ties".

Emma Davis + Patrick James - Hibernian House (25.11.11)

Hibernian House was taken over on Friday night by two wonderful young singer/songwriters. First up was Patrick James, a surprising young talent whose eloquent folk music may have fit well on the Garden State soundtrack - especially the closing track "Burn Away". A beautiful track, all it was missing was a montage. "Carry On" opened the set and tracks "Golden Sun" and "Please You" were among the highlights.

Sydney-based singer-songwriter Emma Davis has released a beautiful animated music video clip for her single "Machines". It comes off the back of her remarkable self-titled debut album, which touched down last month to rave reviews. The clip is directed, illustrated and animated by Paul Murphy, a twenty-four year old independent filmmaker from Sydney.
