The Australian Music Prize (AMP) recently announced the nine shortlisted acts in the running for the $30,000 prize money courtesy of principal partner PPCA. To celebrate, The AMP is having a party and everyone is invited! Featuring several of the shortlisted acts including RICHARD IN YOUR MIND, PIKELET and Red Bull Award winners THE HOLIDAYS, ‘AMP Alive’ will take place on Wednesday, March 2nd at the Annandale Hotel.

The 6th Australian Music Prize (The Amp) continues to reward excellence in home grown talent with the
announcement of the shortlist. Nine standout artists have been chosen by a judging panel of media,
artists and retail staff to vie for the title.

Having attended the Sydney Big Day Out for the past 5 years, it would
be fair to say that being sick of the crowd that attends this event is
an understatement. So, loving Melbourne, I decided to make the trip
down south for this year's epic BDO event - and boy, did it pay off. I
guess I better just say it now: Melbourne Big Day Out shits ALL over
the Sydney event.
When the first couple of announcements were made for the Big Day Out, I, like many others were somewhat underwhelmed, but leading up to the day I grew increasingly excited! The weather was good, the people were awesome and the bands killed it!
