Live Review: Art vs. Science + East - The Basement, Sydney (13.06.15)

When going to see acts you’ve known for years and seen several times before, there’s always a chance that you might be let down if they don’t live up to the memories you have from previous gigs. Fortunately, for Art vs Science, not only did they meet the demands of my past memories, but they definitely created a couple more when they played the opening show of their 'In This Together' tour at Sydney’s The Basement.

Live Review: Bombay Bicycle Club + City Calm Down + East - Metro Theatre Sydney (28.09.14)

Bombay Bicycle Club have made their last mark on Australia's shores. Though East were a good start and City Calm Down was a lot of fun, the crowd simply couldn't stand still while they waited for the headliner. City Calm Down is a Melbourne outfit and they were the perfect setting for the show. Fun, creative and a little bit retro - it was a good vibe to set the tone.

Live Review: Broods + Jarryd James + East - Oxford Art Factory, Sydney (01.08.14)

It’s halfway through Broods’ set when the opening notes of “Bridges” cascade over the audience. Immediately, 200 iPhones shoot up, a sea of bobbing lights in the bluish dark of the Oxford Art Factory. The bass thuds and synths swirl, and when Georgia Nott’s vocals start to climb and the chorus hits – a skittish house mix with a core of sugar pop – the room explodes in a mess of strobes and jumping bodies.
