Donned with their own fairy lights Margins opened up proceedings on the night and the 4 men each took a seat on stage. Not to waste any time of the short set they’d been given they got right into affairs. The material Margins played was mostly made up of a repetitive drum and bass line with guitars layered over the top. It may sound simple but the landscapes of music the boys create were quite complex. In fact, of the artists that performed on the night Margins played perhaps the most diverse and interesting music out of the lot.

23 years after forming Earth have finally made it to Australian shores. To say that this tour was overdue would be an understatement to say the least. Regardless, the crowd that had amassed at Melbourne’s The Toff were quite excited for this, the first of 2 shows (the other being at The Corner Hotel a few days later) and were quite vocal to show their appreciation to the drone legends.

For the first time in their 22 year long career, Seattle drone-doom outfit Earth are finally coming over to Australia. Having grown out of of the Seattle grunge scene in 1990, Earth are known as being the pioneers of 'drone doom' - essentially a branch of doom metal, incorporating minimalist structures.
