From hip-hop to hardcore music, these two have got quite the diverse palette. We got in touch to see which songs they're currently digging and the artists who have been influential on their musicianship.

the AU Weekend Gig Guide: July 24th - July 26th - The Splendour Edition!

It's Splendahhh weekend! For those of you who aren't going to Byron for the festival, the east coast is about to get hit with a tonne of killer sideshows. Here's some of our picks!

The Best of 2015 (So Far): Top 20 Hip Hop Tracks (Part One: 20-11)

The past six months have been good for hip hop, in terms of both mixtapes and studio albums. Kendrick and Lupe are head and heels above everyone else so far, thanks to two very distinctive, conceptual albums, but the quality of songs being released indicates that the two emcees may see a heap of competition by the time 2016 rolls around. From interesting production, to straight-up rhyme-fests, these are the singles we think have stood out as the best this year. No artist (unless featuring) appears more than twice, otherwise I might as well copy and paste the tracklist to Tetsuo & Youth. This is part one, 20-11.

Earl Sweatshirt Splendour sideshows just announced; already on sale! Run, don't walk.

Hip Hop's rising star Earl Sweatshirt is returning to Australia this July to play the Sold Out Splendour in the Grass festival in Byron Bay, and now he's got three sideshows to keep him busy while he's here. The shows will see him play Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

SXSW Live Music Review: SPIN Day Party ft. Run The Jewels + Courtney Barnett + Earl Sweatshirt + Will Butler - Stubbs Bar (20.03.15)

By the time Courtney Barnett slips into the slack jawed “Avant Gardner”, the closer of her excellent set, the crowd is already sold on her brand of lazy suburban grunge.

Single Stream: Gangrene Featuring Earl Sweatshirt & Samuel T Herring "Play It Cool" (2015)

Renowned rapper-producers The Alchemist and Oh No have spent the past few years making quality music under the collective name of Gangrene, a collaboration that was a huge driving force behind that Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack in 2013. The duo aren't done with GTA though, and are preparing to release a mixtape, The Alchemist and Oh No Present: Welcome To Los Santos, inspired by the iconic video game. They have decided to turn it up a notch for first single "Play It Cool", recruiting big names Earl Sweatshirt and Samuel T Herring (of Future Islands). Equally rough and smooth, the infectious production and Herring's buttery hook break up the slick raps beautifully, giving us enough reason to believe that this mixtape is going to be a big deal.

Pandora Internet Radio announces lineup for 4th Annual Discovery Den at SXSW

Just when you thought it was near impossible for South by Southwest to get any bigger, Pandora drop their Discovery Den lineup. This will mark the fourth annual event the leading internet radio service has produced with 2015 seeing 37 diverse artists from eight countries performing.

Check it out below.

The Festival Diaries: The Governor's Ball in New York City (Part Three: Day Three, 2014)

Day three dawns and the sun gods have visited us again – time to get alarmed, because now we know New York will be haunted with rain, fog and mugginess for the weeks to come. Only two minutes in, Canadian's Half Moon Run have set the bar for the day, with smooth harmonies and a gracefulness that makes every instrument from drum to kazoo look like an elaborately choreographed move – more dancing than music-making.

Single Stream: Earl Sweatshirt "Song From 2012 High 6AM Rambling At The 5th" (2014)

Talented Odd Future emcee Earl Sweatshirt has thrown two tracks to the internet recently, seemingly one-off gifts to his cult-like following, which can be found on SoundCloud by following clues on the rapper's twitter account. While the first of the two - "Nebraska" - has the exciting guest appearances from Vince Staples and Mac Miller, it's the second track - the strangely named "Song From 2012 High 6AM Rambling At The 5th" - which is the superior of the two.
