Live Review: Dustin Tebbutt - The Factory Theatre, Sydney (25.09.15)

Playing against a backdrop of snow capped mountains, Dustin Tebbutt captured the minds and bodies of his listeners this past Friday night, thrusting them into a mystical universe where snow constantly falls, and floors in venues aren't sticky. With three EP's behind him, Tebbutt is emerging as one of those Australian artists to keep an eye on, reminiscent of Icelandic folk such as Sigur Ros or Asgeir, but with an undeniable Australian twang.

Single of the Day: Dustin Tebbutt ft Thelma Plum "Silk" (2015)

The second single lifted off his upcoming mini-album Home, Dustin Tebbutt’s new track Silk is a delicate piece of acoustic driven gold. No stranger to collaboration, having just released a single with The Kite String Tangle, Tebbutt has Thelma Plum lending her soft vocals to verses, as well as adding some glorious harmonies. "Illuminate", the new collaboration by The Kite String Tangle and Dustin Tebbutt is a little dream of a recording, one that sounds like it's come together so easily and flawlessly. Both artists have been forging ahead with their own solo careers through 2013 and 2014 particularly and have been producing some music that has been capturing the attention of many around the country; when it comes to envisioning Dustin and Danny getting together in making a track of their own, it's not really hard to think it would be anything other than great.

Up and coming electronic act The Kite String Tangle and folk-pop's rising star Dustin Tebbutt have announced an East Coast tour this June on the back of their collaborative single 'Illuminate', released as part of a 10" vinyl split. 'Illuminate' blends The Kite String Tangle's beautiful production and layered electro pop with Tebbutt's gorgeous vocals.

Dustin Tebbutt announces May tour dates!

One of the stand out names of 2013 was definitely Dustin Tebbutt. The singer songwriter became an artist many live crowds were buzzing about and it's not surprising why. With a gorgeous handle on songwriting and performance, the Sydneysider is sure to be in for a big 2014 for sure and we can't wait to see where he goes. To kick off, Tebbutt is heading out on the road through May on the 'Bones Tour', promoting his new single of the same name.

The last day of 2013 arrives and the Falls Festival crowd are in great spirits. The Falls Fiesta parade winds its way through the crowd at sunset. The Rubens, Violent Femmes, The Cat Empire all keep the energy levels up. On the main stage Vampire Weekend count in the new year, while Horrorshow and Willow Beats do the same in the Grand Theatre. Southside Events have announced that a new three day festival, on a scale never before seen in the Southerland Shire, will take place from December 27-29, 2013. The inaugural Cronulla Endless Summer Festival will be staged by Southside Events at the picturesque Gunnamatta Park, the first free festival of its kind for Cronulla and the heritage listed park.
