Album Review: Force - Force (2013 LP)

Melbourne rapper Force has a talent for approaching traditional hip-hop with an undiluted Australian perspective. Clouded - his debut LP released in 2009 – stamped him as a formidable emcee destined to be a big name in the scene. Released last year, his self-titled LP capitalises on that potential, building on his skills with help from excellent production and giving us a very worthy package of accessible Aussie hip-hop with hints of speaker-blowing electronica.

9th Coopers AMP announces shortlisted artists for 2014, including Big Scary and Cloud Control!

The 9th Coopers AMP has announced the nine Australian artists who have been shortlisted for the prestigious award for 2014. Chosen from a long list of 43 artists, the judging panel had a hard task upon them in whittling down the list to come to the final group which was announced over the weekend. Officially unveiled at the Shortlisted! event in Melbourne, co-hosts Ella Hooper and Urthboy revealed that the following bands and solo artists are up for the award.

His tour earlier in the year brought rave reviews and these ones are no doubt, going to be prompting a similar reaction.

The Come Together festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and the 2013 line up boasts some names worthy of such a big milestone! Kicking off under the Big Top at Luna Park in Sydney this Queen's Birthday long weekend are the likes of Drapht, Illy and The Herd. The trio of artists are only three of many stellar Australian hip-hop artists set to perform - a real treat for this country's hip-hop fans!

After spending the last year working on his third album and his daddy skills, Dialectrix is kicking 2013 off with not only a new EP, but a tour to boot! Satellite is the name of Dialectrix's new release, a five track EP which is slated for a vinyl-only release. The EP launch tour will take Dialectrix to venues in Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Katoomba and Melbourne - get your tickets quick!
