Live Review: Homebake Festival - The Domain (08.12.12)

Homebake 2012 was one of the most pleasant and courteous festival experiences I have ever had. Strange to describe it as courteous, sure, but crowd atmosphere is a big thing for me and this 'Global Edition' of Homebake held exactly that for its punters. Perhaps because the smaller turnout meant more grass area (suits me) or that the crowd seemed older... either way, the 'Global' aspect was definitely upheld by the fact that every single world cuisine was available, as well as of course the fact that from-the-other-side-of-the-globe Blondie was headlining; much of the assumed reason for an older crowd.

the AU interview: Diafrix (Melbourne)

Melbourne based Hip Hop crew Diafrix, are set to release the follow up to their last album, Concrete Jungle, this week. With the title of Pocket Full of Dreams, it’s only fitting that when I sat down with the duo; Azmarino and Momo, earlier this week to discuss the album, that the conversation covered everything from how bad media inspires them to create, to how they see Australian hip hop as a way to unify people, to how a lack of funding has never stopped them from following their dreams.
