This year's nominees for the National Indigenous Music Awards have been released and by all looks, the August Darwin ceremony is going to be one for the books! The musicians announced to be in contention for the awards this year have all been recipients of ARIA awards - or at least have been nominated - in previous years and have cracked the mainstream in their own way. From the pop stylings of Jessica Mauboy to the widespread international appeal Gurrumul, the artists vying for NIMA's love this year are all incredibly talented and diverse.

In the wake of the moving memorial for Dr Yunupingu, the organisers of the 2013 National Indigenous Music Awards have revealed that they have received an overwhelming amount of calls from artists who have wanted to be involved in the special Yothu Yindi tribute that had been planned to go down at the ceremony in August.

St Kilda Festival announces full program line up.

The complete line up has been released for the St Kilda Festival running over nine days from Saturday 2 to Sunday 10 February, 2013.

Festivities start with the Yalukit Wilum Ngargee: People Place Gathering on Saturday 2 February. The day celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music, art and culture. Archie Roach and Dewayne Everettsmith will be playing for the crowd as well performances by local and interstate indigenous acts.
