'Rock the Gate' - why one music concert is taking over Enmore Road this November.

This November, a stellar group of musicians are coming together in Sydney for what looks set to be a great day and night of live music. 'Rock the Gate', featuring the likes of Pete Murray and The Herd, will be taking over the Enmore Theatre on the 23rd, but the music is set to continue outside and down Enmore Road, with the busy cafe and business strip coming to the table and taking part in what's going to be a huge street party. This all sounds good, but why? Well, 'Rock the Gate' isn't just about providing Sydneysiders some good times on a Sunday, it's also about shedding light on and raising awareness about a serious issue many Australians now face, but may know little about.

"Shortest Day of the Year" is the fist single taken from David Bridie's forthcoming album Wake.

The single introduces the original mood David intended for the album: sparse, piano, melody, mood and texture. The song is described as a winter song, and was ironically written while David was on tour in Scotland on one of the longest days of the year, when it got dark at midnight.

Album Review: The Key Of Sea: Volume Two - Various Artists (2012)

When I first heard about the Key of Sea initiative, I was intrigued and excited. The Key of Sea is basically a compilation featuring collaborations between established Australian artists and extraordinary musicians, who have moved to Australia to escape war, hardship or persecution.
