Dave Rennick & Tim Derricourt talk us through the new Dappled Cities record and plans for 2016!

Finally, after what seems like TOO long away, Sydney favourites Dappled Cities are ready to return with a new album and live show in tow! Catching up with Dave Rennick and Tim Derricourt at AU HQ recently, we learned a bit more about the new music Dappled Cities have been making.

“When we decided to make this record,” Dave says. “It was after a period of, as Tim said, not playing very much and not even rehearsing, but we still had all these songs written and ready to go. When we went into the studio, it was like a relief to be playing them into a microphone.”

“We’re one of those bands who, [because] we’ve been playing for so long together,” Tim says of their upcoming show at the Newtown Social Club. “We basically get in a room after not having played any songs for half a year or a year and it just sounds just the same. It’s good!”

“Right now, we’re just getting back into action.” Dave says of the band’s current plans for releasing and touring the music. “No dates are set, but it will be very soon that the next single will be out. All else will follow!”
