Festival Review: The Blurst of Times - Seaworks, Melbourne (19.10.14)

On Sunday October 21st Brisbane’s The Blurst of Times Festival hit Melbourne for the first time. Held at Seaworks in Williamstown, the day featured a line up of excellent Australian talent, across three stages.

The Blurst of Times Festival is just days from kicking off, with the first date landing this weekend in Brisbane. With a strong line up of Australian talent set to perform, Blurst is going around the Sydney and Melbourne for the first time to truly bring some exciting and ultimately party-ruined times to more live music fans. The Reverence Hotel in Melbourne will be hosting one heck of an Australia Day party in 2014, with the hardcore, punk and rock communities coming together for a day of blistering tunes. Taking place over two stages, the gig will be raising much needed money for Oxfam and The Refugee Council of Australia – previous events have raised over $25,000 for important causes and next year’s event will be no different. If you’re around and about on January 25 and 26, get down and show your support!

Damn Terran touring new album through September and October.

Damn Terran will be on the road for not only an appearance at BIGSOUND, but a run of headline dates through October! Having established themselves as a strong live act over the last 12 months, the band will be touring off the back of their album Lost - a record that has already spawned the awesome single in "Lost". The album, due for a September 20 release, is sure to propel Damn Terran on to the radars of many new fans, as well as further cement them as a name to be reckoned with to everyone else.

Melbourne trio Damn Terran - comprised of guitarist/ vocalist Lachlan Ewbank, bassist/vocalist Ali Edmonds (Heavy Beach, Little Athletics), and drummer Leigh Ewbank - are finally releasing their debut self-titled LP this September. The latest single from the release is called "Lost" and shows the influence of touring around Australia with bands like DZ Deathrays and Children Collide, while forging their own path. I personally can't get enough of the track and would love to hear what you think too!

DZ Deathrays announce headline tour to accompany The Bronx support dates called the "Teenage Kickstarts" tour!

DZ Deathrays have a had a blast of the last 18 months, with their LP Bloodstreams accruing massive amounts of acclaim, adding onto the stellar reviews of their crazy live shows. The Brisbane duo, who were recently announced to be the national support for The Bronx's Australian tour, have now announced that they'll be touring under their own headline banner, wit the 'Teenage Kickstarts Tour'.
