Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile get personal in music video for “Continental Breakfast”

The partnership of Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile is one made in indie rock heaven, most fans would agree. Their collaborative album, Lotta Sea Lice, is due out in a matter of weeks; while it is set to produce some great musical moments for both of them in the eyes of the wider music public, Lotta Sea Lice also serves as a special way of marking the enduring friendship between these two musicians who have been regarded as two of the best songwriters in the genre, of their generation.

The duo’s latest single, “Continental Breakfast”, invites the music fan further into Barnett and Vile’s lives off stage as the music video depicts a few days in the life, if you will. We go to Melbourne and Philly and watch the two with their family and friends. It’s a candid capture of live behind the scenes and in terms of understanding what binds these two together as friends and musical collaborators, “Continental Breakfast” has been a cool vessel to offer a bit of that insight.

Directed by Danny Cohen and shot on 16mm film, “Continental Breakfast” sees Barnett and Vile in their natural home environment – a special little treat for those fans who’ve been following them and their successes for so long now.

Lotta Sea Lice is out on October 13th via Barnett’s Milk! Records.
