It’s always a sad day when a band decides it’s time to call it quits, and for the band Montpelier, it’s quite sad indeed. Although they are not the most well known group in Brisbane, they do have a loyal little band of followers, and I won’t lie, I am one of them. I’ve been with them for most of their two and a half year stint, going to the majority of their Brisbane gigs.

The vibrant folk-fired five-piece, Charlie Mayfair, have recently let loose their brand new single ‘Tell Her’. After a few national nods from radio, the time has come for the Brisbane band to pack their bags and take their musical wares interstate. This August, the quintet heads south on an east coast tour celebrating their most momentous release to date.

At the beginning of November Sunset Sounds came together with a bunch of Brisbane music’s most supportive media outlets, to shine the light on local artists through the Sunset Sounds Foster Band Initiative.
